Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 25, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Digital Wellbeing App ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our mobile application available on iOS and Android (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you sign in using Apple Sign In or Google Sign In, we receive basic profile information including your name and email address as provided by those platforms. We do not collect your passwords.

1.2 Screen Time & Usage Data

We collect screen time and usage data for apps on your device that belong to the categories the App is able to monitor (for example games, short-form video, and similar categories). This includes apps in those categories that you have not individually selected to monitor, so that we can establish a baseline of your usage and measure your progress over time. We do not access, collect, or store usage information for apps that fall outside these monitorable categories. For apps in monitorable categories, we collect:

We use this data to create a starting "baseline" of your usage when you begin using the App, and to measure changes in your screen time over time so we can show you whether your usage has improved.

1.3 Mood & Emotion Data

We collect self-reported mood and emotion data that you voluntarily provide through the App's check-in features, and only in relation to the apps you have chosen to monitor. We do not collect emotional or wellbeing data associated with any other apps on your device. This data is considered sensitive personal data and is handled with the highest level of protection.

1.4 Device Identifiers & Guest Usage

You may use the App without creating an account. In this case, no personally identifiable information is collected. However, usage and session data is associated with a privacy-preserving device-level identifier that is unique to your physical device and persists across app reinstalls. This data is pseudonymous — it cannot be directly linked to your name or identity, but is tied to your device.

If you later create an account, any data previously collected under your device identifier will be associated with your new account, as both are already linked to the same device record in our system.

This device identifier is derived from device characteristics and stored in a non-reversible format. It is used solely for account management, multi-device support, and service integrity — never for advertising or tracking across third-party apps. We do not collect your device model, operating system version, or any other device information unless you voluntarily include it in a bug report submitted to us.

1.5 Analytics Data

We use Firebase Analytics (Google) to understand how users interact with the App's features. Analytics data is associated only with monitorable apps and general App usage. Firebase's data practices are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

We do not use your personal data for advertising or sell it to third parties.

3. Data Sharing

We share your data only in the following limited circumstances:

We do not sell your personal or sensitive user data to any third party.

4. Sensitive Data — Mood & Emotion

Mood and emotion data you provide is sensitive personal data, and is collected exclusively in relation to the apps you have chosen to monitor. We apply the following protections:

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Specifically:

6. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at info@digitalwellbeingapp.com and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your Rights & Data Deletion

You have the right to:

To request account deletion, go to Settings > Account > Delete Account within the App, or visit www.digitalwellbeingapp.com. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption for data in transit, AES-256 encryption for data at rest, and access controls limiting data to authorized personnel. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

9. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

We are responsible for ensuring these services handle data from our App in compliance with applicable privacy standards.

10. International Users

The App is available globally. If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal data in compliance with GDPR. Our legal basis for processing is your consent and our legitimate interest in providing the service. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the Effective Date above and providing in-app notice. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
